Bookkeepers' Boot Camp Get a Grip on Accounting Basics 101 for Small Business Angie Mohr Books Reviews

  • This book really assumes you know nothing about bookkeeping or accounting, which in my case was true. I found it helpful in grasping the basic concepts (which are so counterintuitive for me!) so that I can understand what I'm doing in Quickbooks. A necessary evil.
  • The author writes this book well and really goes into the detail. I have a bookkeeping background but wanted a refresher since it's been years that I've been a bookkeeper. This book was great at explaining in detail the basics. A good reference book to keep on the shelf.
  • really basic, read Financial Statements or google "bookkeeping" and get some practice that way. Was hoping for a list of complex journal entries. Instead got the very rudimentary essentials of accounting
  • As others have said, it's a simplistic in some areas, makes leaps in others. It's a pretty good overview of accounting basics. I wouldn't say any better or worse than the "For Dummies" book. I think the Dummies book gives a little more detail and examples.
  • This book provides a simple explanation of double entry accounting for small business. For a beginning bookeeper or a non-financial manager, it does a good job.
  • Angie did a good job on Bookkeeping. The book proved worth the money and effort to read it. I will definitely buy her other book on Financial Management to expand my knowledge. Thanks Angie for a good job.
  • Great crash course - prepared me for a brand new experience!
  • The 2 books in this series that I've read have been just what I wanted good basics on bookkeeping and finance, no fluff.

Mohr gives you the what and why of bookkeeping for any small business.

    Highly recommended.
